Avila is a historical town, declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The centre of Avila is full of cornered streets and is surrounded by a 12 m high long wall nearly 2,5 km in length and with an average thickness of 3 m. In the evenings the wall is illuminated to make it the largest illuminated monument in the world, visible from a long distance. Moreover it's said that Avila is one of the safest cities of Spain, making it an ideal place for students and young groups.
