Málaga is a city that sparkles because of its temperament. This shows above all in the best known folklore of Málaga: the song and dance of the Flamenco. Before and during Easter there are numerous processions. That's when Málaga shows itself in all its pomp and circumstance, a joy to behold. The city has many historic attractions. Not just the old centre of Málaga with its countless Moorish remains but also the Alcazaba, a Muslim Fort, and the castle on Mount Gibralfaro are well worth a visit.
Partner Schools:
don Quijote Partner School
LocationThe school in Malaga is only 300 metres from the beach. The school is situated in the centre of the Pedregalejo district, 20 minutes by bus from the tourist centre. In this business district, you will meet any Spanish tourist who are on holiday in their own country. They avoid the centre because of the invasion of foreign tourists. The school building has 20 classrooms, a courtyard, a covered terrace with a bar and facilities such as video and TV. The school is open all year, except for the last two weeks of December. The minimum age in 18 years and you have, just as with don Quijote, a maximum of seven other students in a group.
CoursesYou can do a intensive (four hours per day) or super-intensive (six hours per day) Spanish course in Malaga for two to eight weeks. You can start a course on the official start dates (see the list of dates in the price booklet).
Teachers and teaching methodThe selection of teachers and the teaching method are almost the same as that of don Quijote. This is one of the most important conditions that we put on our partnerships.
AccomodationYou can choose between two types of accommodation: in a student flat or with a host family. And you can always opt for a double or single room. In a guest family you will be on a half board basis, meaning breakfast and you can choose between lunch or dinner. In a student flat you share the accommodation with other students from the school and you will have to cook your own meals.
Activities and excursionsThe school organises lots of weekday activities such as dancing lessons, a ‘tapas’ tour, beach volleyball and guided tours of the centre of the city. There is no welcome dinner on the first Monday but there is a welcoming party on Tuesday. Excursions are organised at the weekends to cities, villages and the countryside.
